The MaxView 40 is a custom made eyepiece designed specifically for "Afocal" connection to a digital camera. "Point & Shoot" type cameras with non-removable lenses must shoot through an eyepiece to form an image. This can sometimes be challenging, especially if your camera has a larger lens on it. Larger lenses tend to have more vignetting (darkened or cutoff corners of the image) when used afocally so care must be taken to select a suitable eyepiece. There are a number of criteria which must be met for an eyepiece to work well for this purpose. Also works great as a wide field eyepiece visually.

The MaxView 40 was designed to specifically meet the required criteria for afocal imaging.

An easy way to connect a Camera
The MaxView 40 has a thread off eyeguard with a standard male 42mm T-thread underneath.

Correct "Eye Relief" & Positioning
The MaxView 40 has extremely Long Eye Relief and an adjustable top for easy positioning.

Large Diameter Quality Optics
The MaxView 40 has the largest possible optics that can fit inside a T-thread.
All optics are 100% fully Multi-Coated.

Close Optical Coupling / Non -Recessed Lens
The MaxView 40 optics are mounted a mere 1mm from the top for the closest optical coupling possible.

Long Focal Length
The MaxView 40 has a long 40mm Focal Length to prevent "overpowering" at high camera zoom settings.

You will also need an "Attachment Kit" to mate the MaxView 40 to your particular camera model.
